Elaine C. Alfieri

Elaine Alfieri (née Chiarella), a long standing resident of Livingston, NJ entered eternal life on August 18, 2019 after a long illness while surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Orange, NJ to Thomas and Anna Chiarella and was raised and lived in West Orange and Orange before moving to Livingston in 1964.

Elaine Alfieri was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Ralph and her sisters, Concetta D’Aries, Vivian Petrillo and Santina Marotta, along with her brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Thomas Chiarella.

Elaine was a devoted mother to Ralph and his wife, Linda, of East Hanover; Patricia of Morganville; Kevin and his wife Jennifer, of Livingston; and David, of Livingston. She is survived by her adoring and loyal children as well as her dear grandchildren; Ralph and Andrew Alfieri, Janine, Jillian and Jianna Milan, Helena, Victoria and Katherine Alfieri. Also, she was a cherished aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was a graduate of West Orange High School. She was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Newark for many years until she became a mother to completely dedicate her life to her family. Elaine was devout believer in the Catholic religion while being a faithful parishioner of St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston for over 55 years. Elaine was the youngest in her family and the last of her generation. She will be gratefully remembered for her deep religious beliefs, quiet dignity, thoughtfulness, and for the love she generously shared with her entire family.

Viewing will be at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston on Friday, August 23 from 5-9 pm

A Funeral Mass will be offered for the repose of her soul at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston on Saturday, August 24 at 10 am, followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
