Dorothy B. Scher 101, of South Orange passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016. Born in Newark, Dorothy lived in Maplewood prior to moving to South Orange 26 years ago. Mrs. Scher was a member Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston for 70 years. She volunteered weekly at the Daughters of Israel in West Orange and was an active and longtime member of Hadassah.
Mrs. Scher was predeceased by her husband Meyer H. Scher in 1991. Surviving are her children Elliot Scher and his wife Jennifer, Abby Schwartz and her husband David, and Michael Scher and his wife Jill, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 12:30PM on Tuesday at the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston. Interment will be in B’nai Abraham Memorial Park, Union.
