Dina Maria Dillenkofer (ne’ Depetro) died in her home at the age of 96 on January 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a graduate of Montclair State College with a degree in Spanish and a Physical Education minor. She went on to teach elementary school in Morris Plains, then married Theodore Dillenkofer in 1955. They were married for 58 years and had 5 children. She returned to teaching in Parsippany in 1968 and retired in 1993. Dina was active in her younger years in both amateur radio (K2AKX) and Friends of the Parsippany Library. For all of her life Dina was a vibrant active woman both with the local community and her large family. She was supportive, gave great advice and loved them all unconditionally.
Her parents were John Jess Depetro and Gregoria (Rametta) Depetro. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, she is also survived by her sister Clementine Depetro. and all her children - Theodore Jr. and Ann Tomney, Carl and Faith Dillenkofer, Lisa Malleo and Michael Martin, Denise and Mark Ruggier and Glenn Dillenkofer. She was the grandmother of Olivia and Annalise Dillenkofer, the children of Carl and Faith, Michael, Daniel and Christina Malleo, the children of Lisa and Frank, Erik and Adam Hendrickson, the children of Denise and Cliff Hendrickson and Mark and Nicole Dillenkofer, children of Glenn. She was also great-grandmother to Stella and Jack Malleo, the children of Michael and Christina Malleo and Eleia Tsamutalis, the child of Christina and Socrates Tsamutalis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted, her sister Dolores Fraterrigo and her grandson Bryan Hendrickson.
Memorial services will be scheduled at some time in the future.
