Carol Ann Sexton, 73, succumbed to her battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, June 8. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Terence, and her three sons; Michael of Nutley, Vincent of San Diego, CA, and Sean of Stevenson Ranch, CA. She has four grandchildren; Sydney, Riley, Gavin, and Emma Sexton. Carol was predeceased by her sister Cathy Saverino and is survived by her brother Vincent Salerno and his wife Eileen.
Carol grew up in the Ivy Hill section of Newark, raised her family in Livingston, and retired in West Orange. For years, she worked at the former Beef and Bottle Restaurant on the Livingston Circle as a waitress, bartender, and then assistant manager, but she always considered her primary job to be “Mom”.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday June 14 at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston.
