Dear family and friends of Bunnie or Bunster as she was fondly called! Even though we had moved away from Livingston, Bunnie and I kept in touch through phone calls and restaurant meetings when I was in town. She always made one feel important and special through her words and actions. Bunnie was a supreme supporter as I was writing my personal memoir, and she came to a presentation I made of my book in late February 2022, with the help of Jeff and Kim, even though she was very frail and weak. I always looked forward to seeing Bunnie at the 9/11 Memorial. In her own way she brought comfort to me while I was there. She always made sure that I was given some time to speak about my brother Kenneth Zelman who perished that September morning.  Future Livingston  9/11 Anniversaries will now be even more meaningful.

My condolences to the Ratner’s family and all loved one that she has left. I pray God will comfort everyone. I met Bunnie at my Job in Investors Bank she was a client that became a very good friend of mine. I will miss you bunny and thanks for all that you did especially every April you bring me a beautiful plant in memory of my late daughter Victoria. When I spoke with you last month I did not know that I wouldn’t hear from you again it’s so sad to know that you are no more. God be with your family.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be a part of the celebration even though we are in Florida. It was a well-deserved tribute to a very special special friend. We will always remember Bunny as the second mother for Leslie and also remember that Bunny was the first one Michael told about his entrance to medical school. The Dorman family was so fortunate to have the Ratner‘s as our family too we send lots of love and many hugs. It’s so difficult to be away from dear ones at a time like this but please know that you are in our thoughts all the time. Blanche and Nathan

We lost our best friend, our Bunnie, who was always there for us with love and support.  She was a beautiful women, both inside and out.  We will miss her dearly and think of her every day.  All our love.

Bunnie was a most civic-minded Livingstonian.  Longtime leader of the Essex County Juvenile Conference Committee, a volunteer arm of the Family Court that worked to impose creative alternative accountability resolutions, outside the criminal justice system, for juvenile offenders.  Admired for her tireless efforts to create and sustain Livingston's annual 911 Memorial program.  Endeared to the veterans' community.  She left an indelible mark on this township.

I joined her in service on the JCC in 2017. She was the most gracious, welcoming  spirit . We all felt that. I only knew her in that capacity, but it seemed like we had been friends for years. I think she really liked bringing people together for good and noble causes. To honor the kind acts and charity of those deserving. I’ll miss her terribly will always remember her. My sincere condolences to Sam, the family and all those morning this tremendous loss.

My son, Eric, had Bunnie as a teacher for a preschool  enrichment class at the JCC called Stories and Songs about 30 years ago. I remember this so well because Eric LOVED Bunnie. The class only met once a week, but each time I picked him up, he was bursting to tell me about what he had done with Bunnie that day. Bunnie left her mark on so many lives, including those of hundreds of preschoolers. My condolences to the entire Ratner Family on this great loss. 

I met Bunnie when I served on the 911 Memorial Committee with her. We worked so hard on that committee but had so much  fun doing it.That is when the friendship started and never ended. Even after I moved to Monmouth Beach we stayed in touch and when ever I was up there I would try to stop by. She was the energizer Bunnie, always helping someone or some cause. She will be so missed by so many, especially me. My regards to her whole family.-Sue McDonald

Bunnie’s passing is a tragic loss.  As an integral part of our family, she was a trailblazer and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be missed and her memory treasured.  May her memory be a blessing.  Our love, Wendy & Mark Sobel & family

My husband and I met Bunnie as she was addressing newcomers to Livingston in 1993. I leaned over to my husband and said I want to be like her! Years later she came to the Livingston library where I worked, we chatted about how much I admired her, a friendship was formed first to serve with her on town committees, and then as friends. It is said that yesterday Livingston lost part of its heart ♥️.

When I first joined the Livingtones Bunnie made me feel very comfortable.  I loved singing with her, our voices blended so well in harmony and we loved laughing at the same things.  She used to say we were like one.

I will miss her so very much.
