Barbara Baker

With great sadness, the family of Barbara Baker announces her passing on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Barbara was a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, a supportive sister, a cherished friend, and a passionate protector of “all creatures great and small.”

Her kindness, compassion, humor, and playfulness endeared her to all, and her outgoing and engaging personality was central to many deep and rewarding lifelong friendships.

Barbara was an avid reader, a committed follower of events worldwide and close to home, and valued constructive discussion. As an adult, she earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Resource Management and Psychology from Upsala University, culminating years of part-time study while working full time. On graduation, she ranked as salutatorian of her class.

Barbara will be greatly missed by all she touched. A memorial celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel at 68 Old Short Hills Road in Livingston, NJ. Donations in Barbara’s memory can be made to the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center - Atlantic Health System, designated for the Joan Knechel Cancer Center.
