Arthur “Pop” Bergman loving husband, brother, father, father-in-law, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather died on May 7, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by devoted family. He was raised in the Bronx, NY by immigrant parents. He lived in Livingston, NJ for 36 years then resided in Roseland, NJ for 20 years. Arty was a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 64 in Bronx, NY. He served in the US Army National Guard reaching the rank of First Lieutenant. His life journey took him into the profession of demolition contractor. He wanted to be known as “a hell of a wrecker”. He was President of BC Enterprises Demolition Co and Charter Board Member of the National Association of Demolition Contractors (NADC). After retirement he was a Crossing Guard in Livingston, NJ for 12 years.
Arthur was Pre-deceased by his brother Martin Bergman and son Rusty Bergman. He is survived by Lee, his wife of almost 65 years. His brother Kenneth Bergman, daughter Allyson and husband John Fryhoff, and three sons Mark and wife Betsy, Joe and wife Lisa, Scott and wife Rachael Bergman, his Eight Grandchildren and Great Grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory to Arthur’s favorites; JCC MetroWest Margulies Senior Center, JCC MetroWest Special Needs Services, the ARC of Essex County, or a charity of your choosing.
