Livingston Ave., Livingston, on Wednesday at 10 AM followed by the entombment service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Born and raised in Garfield, NJ, Anna lived in East Orange prior to moving to Short Hills. The gentlest and kindest person, with a great sense of humor, Anna was a friend to everyone that she met and made all feel welcome with her generous spirit. She truly shared in the joys of others, offering them heartfelt support and praise to make everyone feel special in their accomplishments. Very accomplished in all aspects of her own life, she was always humble and never one to flaunt her achievements.
An amazing cook, a talented seamstress, and a gracious homemaker, Anna was the heart of her family. Married to her late husband Joseph for 57 years, Anna had 9 children, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, visiting Atlantic City, and participating in senior citizen activities such as “Life Lighters” and “Friday Friends.” An avid church-goer, Anna loved people and the opportunity to bring people together to celebrate life.
Having skipped 3rd grade, she often expressed a desire to further her own education but instead chose to put her family’s needs before her own desires. Nonetheless, she was an enthusiastic student of life, taking every opportunity to learn about others in order to understand and empathize with them. Truly a people person, Anna will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph and son “baby” George, Anna is survived by sisters Bridget Onufer and Rose Knauss and brother George Costantino. Anna is also survived by sons Frank, Dominick, Joseph, Anthony, Michael, and Richard and daughters Catherine Siwicki and Flora Bates. Additionally, Anna is survived by her grandchildren Crystal, Cynthia, Joseph D., Richard, Kelly, A.J., Molly, Joseph J., Johnny, Melissa, and Michael and great grandchild Emily.
