Aldo P. Del Turco, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, surrounded by his loving children. They will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Tuesday, 4-8 PM. The Funeral mass celebrating his life will be offered at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, on Wednesday at 10 AM followed by the committal service at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 ([email protected]).
Born in Newark, he lived many years in North Arlington, Livingston and East Hanover moving to Florham Park over two years ago. Aldo was an Aviation Electronic Technician’s Mate First Class in the Navy during World War II where he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Medal and Victory Medal. Attending Stevens Institute of Technology, he became President of Del Turco Brothers Tile and Terrazzo, Newark, which celebrated its 100th year in 2010.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillian (Miscia), he is survived by his devoted children: Bruce and wife Gail, Diane Wollenberg and husband Wolly, Paul and wife Lisa and his loving grandchildren: Jason and Matthew Del Turco, Jessica and Kristen Wollenberg and Lauren, Kevin and Douglas Del Turco.
