Born in Newark, NJ, Mr. Golden was a graduate of Weequahic HIgh School and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a Naval Officer in the Contract Clearance Branch of the Office of Naval Material in the Executive Office of the Secretary of the Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Golden retired as partner, with his late brother Howard, in Golden Electric Co. of Millburn, NJ, and served for five years as president of the Electric Housewares Distributors of America. He was a past president of Green Brook Country Club and the Mendham Taxpayers Association, and served on the Boards of Trustees of Newark Beth Israel Hospital and the St. Barnabas Hospital Foundation.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beverly, son James and daughter-in-law Deborah, son Robert, daughter Debra, grandsons Alexander and Harry (Jennifer), and great-granddaughter Zoe.
