Mr. Ulysee Davis Jr. was born October 10,1941 to Mr. Ulysee Davis Sr. and Mrs. Nora Johnson Davis. Mr Davis (AKA Big June) accepted God as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul AME Church in Holly Grove, Arkansas.
Mr. Davis passed peacefully on October 11, 2022.
Mr. Davis completed high school at Holly Grove Vocational High School, and shortly afterward was called to serve in the US Army. While in the US Army, Mr. Davis served in Vietnam, he was discharged on December 6,1965 with an Honorable Character of Service.
Upon returning to the United States after serving his country, Mr. Davis moved to Los Angeles, California, and married his high school sweetheart Edna Parris. In this union two beautiful daughters were born, Carol Davis and Regina Davis.
Mr. Davis loved his family and was always happy to hear from them when they would call or see them when they would drop by for a visit. In Mr. Davis' free time he loved to do crossword puzzles. When he wasn't doing crosswords, he was watching TV, his favorite shows were judges and westerns. "He loved him some Judge Judy". He enjoyed listening to music and would record his favorite songs and was a master in electronics.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Ulysee Davis, Sr. and Nora Johnson Davis, 3 sisters Irene (Herman) Henderson, Pearline (Robert) Cunningham and Lendora (McKinley) Jones; 4 brothers Oscar Bo (Theresa) Davis, Walter Davis, Lonnie C (Earnestine) Davis and Bobby D (Ethel) Davis.
Mr. Davis leaves to cherish his memory his wife, high school sweetheart and best friend Mrs. Edna Parris Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada, his daughters Carol Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada and Regina Davis of New York, New York; his special nephew/son Wally Henderson and niece/daughter Linda Henderson of Little Rock, Arkansas; great great nephew Kearus Henderson and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth funeral home on Wednesday, October 19th from 6pm to 7pm.
Graveside services will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock on Thursday, October 20th at 11am.
