Educated in Little Rock Public School, graduated from Dunbar High School, and attended Dunbar Junior College, California Trade School, Oakland, CA.
Served in the South Pacific during WW II, 1942-44, Honorable Discharged. Retired Postal employee after 34 years.
Accepted Christ as savior in 1936 at Shiloh Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. C. D. Pettaway. Served faithfully in various capacities of the church. Ordained minister the 5th of July 1970. Served as interim pastor four different times at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Elder Banks was united in holy matrimony to Rosemary Pruitt on July 09, 1950. To this union we were blessed with two sons; Reginald T. Banks and Kenneth W. Banks whom he loved dearly.
Elder Banks was proceed in death by his parents, son Kenneth Wayne Banks, sister June Maxine Sadler, sister Constance M. Banks and brother Rev. V. M. Banks.
He leaves to cherish his memories of his devoted wife, Rosemary, for over 69 years, son Reginald T. Banks, Daughter-in-laws Mae Julia Banks and Jacquelyn Banks, grandsons Eliot T. Banks and Miles J. Banks; granddaughter Joy Lynn Banks. Nephews, nieces other relatives, friends and the Shiloh Baptist Church family.
