The social media world lost one of its top influencers on Wednesday, January 15th. Susan Marks Walker, 68, left this earth on this day and has since left behind a void on Facebook with a magnitude that has never been seen before. The most current statistics cite that Facebook “shares” have dropped 63% since her passing. The reduced traffic has been felt industry-wide, and executives and stockholders have expressed their deepest condolences to her family. Jeff Bezos, President and CEO of Amazon, also sent a nice bouquet of flowers, next-day of course. If there was a way for Susan to share this momentous information on Facebook, she would do so…repeatedly.
Her influence and the subsequent void have touched the lives of many, and not by way of social media, but by the life that she lived. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Catherine Marks. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Walker, her four siblings, six children, and twelve grandchildren…Catholics, right? Each and every person that she knew have been made better by her influence and sharing, in all capacities.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, January 20th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you make a donation to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation in her name.
