Norris Robert “Bob” Hogg II, 84, of Little Rock passed away March 18, 2025. He was born June 4, 1940 in Sherman, Texas to the late Norris R Hogg and Mildred Mathews Hogg. In addition to his parents, Norris was welcomed into heaven by his wife of 38 years, Marsha Ellen Sixour Hogg; and brother, Thomas Marvin Hogg.
Bob graduated Hall High School in 1958 and attended university in Monticello in 1967, receiving a BBA. A United States Air Force veteran from 1961-1965, Bob served in Vietnam with the Joint United States Military Assistance Group (JUSMAG).
His insurance career began in 1967 as a field representative with Hartford Insurance Group in Hartford CT, later Memphis TN, and finally Little Rock, AR. He joined Gulley Insurance Agency, later Savers Federal Savings and Loan, as a certified insurance counselor (CIC) and an independent multi-line agent. He retired in 2008 from the American International Group (AIG) as a field representative. In retirement, he made deliveries for Diane’s Gourmet in Little Rock.
Bob was a member of Lakeside Country Club, a hunting and fishing club, and served on the Timber Management Board. He was the past president of the Greater Little Rock Optimist Club. He was an arbiter for the Better Business Bureau of Little Rock as well as a past chairman and board member of the Ozark Society Pulaski Chapter. He was an active hiker and enjoyed hiking in Arkansas, Colorado, Arizona, and Wyoming. He hiked the majority of the Ouachita trail and completed all of the Buffalo River trail. He also enjoyed trail building with hiking friends.
He and his wife, Marsha, loved to dance. In later years he danced frequently at the Little Rock Bop Club, Spa City Bop Club, and the American Legion in Little Rock. He was happiest on the dance floor, dancing and laughing with friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Anne Pranskatis and her husband Chris Pranskatis of Cortez, CO.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Second Presbyterian Church (600 Pleasant Valley Dr, Little Rock, AR 72227).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Ozark Society - Pulaski Chapter, or the The Nature Conservancy.
