He was preceded in death by his parents, his Son "Nev" Withrow and his Daughter, Lee Withrow. He is survived by his Wife Patricia Withrow, his Brother Eugec Withrow and several nieces and nephews. He and his wife were also Members of First United Methodist Church of Little Rock, AR.
Charlie graduated from Little Rock Senior High School in 1942 where he then joined the United States Navy. He began working with his father at the Nevil C. Withrow Co. from 1944 until 1947. He started working for Arkansas Sign and Neon in 1976 when he purchased and operated Arkansas Sign and Neon from 1976 until 2015 and even continued working until 2017.
He was part of the founding members of the World Sign Association as well as the Mid-South Sign Association where he was a member of the MSSA Hall of fame. Charlie was also on the Boards for several charitable organizations including Arkansas Children's Hospital Life Savers Society, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Boy Scouts of America (Century Member), UofA Big Red Club (supporting the Educational Athletic Scholarship Program), The Quapaw Area Council-Century Club, Shriners, Freemasons and countless others.
Charlie's passions included flying and, at one time, yachting. Other than working and being dedicated to his Arkansas Sign family, he loved flying the most and owned several planes.
One of Charlie's other passions was donating Blood to the American Red Cross. He never missed what he believed was his obligation to give blood and was honored by the American Red Cross shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast area. He donated until they made him stop in 2012 due to health reasons.
Charlie was a WWII veteran. He will be laid to rest on October 24, 2019
at 1pm. Private burial will follow on October 25, 2019. He will be missed by all.
