Dorothy Louise Nelson born July 13, 1924 fell asleep in death November 16, 2018. Louise is pre-deceased by her husband John Nelson and her brother Charles Yarbrough. She leaves behind five brothers: Roy Elmer Yarbrough, Fred D. Yarbrough, Delano “Bill” Yarbrough, Terry D. Yarbrough, Marion Bozman, two children Sadette Nelson and Raymond Nelson (Barbara Nelson); two grandchildren Duron Nelson (Jennifer Nelson) and Le’Kedra Queen (Keair Queen); and 2 great-granddaughters and a great grandson.
Louise was born in Thornton, Arkansas July 13, 1924 to Roy and Sadie Yarbrough. She spent her early years being educated in Thornton, but later moved to New York to further her education. She encountered Mr. John Nelson back down South. Mr. Nelson expressed an extreme interest and Louise ran from him! Although, she wanted an older mature man, he wanted a younger woman, so they married in Pine Bluff January 7, 1945.
Louise’s real passion was her faith. She was baptized in 1954 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pine Bluff. She was one of the early witnesses in Thornton. She conducted the congregation meetings: book study and the Watchtower study in their home from 1958-1964. There were only 5 Witnesses in the area: Louise, her mother Sadie whom she aided in the truth, her children Sadette and Ray and one non-family member Sister Quintila Bush. Although their fervor in the ministry was evident in that they showed one of our early films in their home and it was standing room only!
