Rock, he attended St. Andrew’s School and Catholic High School for Boys. He graduated from
Notre Dame with a BFA 1953, where his painting talent was recognized, winning several
student competitions including the prestigious Jacque Award for outstanding thesis.
His painting activity was interrupted by military service in the Air Force, where he was a pilot
and obtained the rank of Captain. In 1955 he married Lottie Cobb (who preceded him in death

decades thereafter he entered his work in local competitions, winning some ribbons.

In 1994 he started St. Jude Packaging, and with painting as his hobby accumulated a large
inventory of paintings.
In 2010 he opened L and L Art Gallery, with the second L signifying his deceased wife, who
was his best critic. In addition to showing and selling his artwork, he began to teach art
classes for adults, and made many wonderful friends, in addition to uncovering some latent
talent.
He is survived by his sons, Dr. Joseph Beck (Ronnie Stone), Louis Reginald Beck (Sissy) and
Patrick Beck (Kathy). He was close to his grandchildren, Morgan, Nicholas , Daniel, Zachary
and Shannon, and looked forward to news about his great grandchildren, Emma, Bennett,
Asher and Jude. A fifth great grandchild, Becks, will make her appearance shortly.
