I first met Linda back when she was the Resource Teacher at Pinewood Elementary for my daughter Stephanie.  Even after Stephanie moved on Linda always kept in tough even until recently.  She was truly a wonder to all special ed kids and she will be truly missed.  Her family will be in our prayers.

You will truly be missed and loved by so many. I’m truly blessed to have had you in my life as you all became my family away from home after I moved here. I appreciate your love and down to earth. You will continue to be in my thoughts and heart. I love and miss you dearly.

First, I want to offer my condolences for the loss of your mother and father. I most recently learned of your mother’s passing. I worked at the dialysis clinic your father attended and that’s how I met your parents. They were both such an inspiration to me. I could on and on about them both but the memory I want to share was one day she came to pick your dad up and I saw the smile on her face when I brought him outside  and then he returned the same loving and warm smile. It was priceless and magical and all I could think was, they are absolute best friends and they love each other very much! That type of love is rare and uncommon. That moment with them has always stayed with me. They both have always inspired me to complete my education, I could never thank them enough for that.  I will keep your family forever in my prayers and thank you for sharing your parents with me. They were so amazing to me. It was an honor to know them both and be a servant to them.

Dear Grimes Family, 

I was sorry to hear about my friend and your mother, Mrs. Linda Grimes. Her beautiful smile will always remembered by all who knew her. 

We went Hunter United Methodist together and shared ideas on many committees.  She was a wonderful person and NEVER had an unkind words about any one or anything.

 I wish Justin and his wife, the best that life has to offer.


Mrs.Grimes was my teacher, she was very dedicated and encouraging, told me at a young age (when the school system would give up on me) that I was a young African American king and I can do and be anything. Recently, I had been searching for her to tell her thank you for not giving up on me, she was the reason I owned a business today. My mom found this and honestly I am very saddened by this, my condolences to the family.

I was so privileged to work with Mrs Grimes at Jacksonville Middle School.   She was such a help to me as a young teacher. She was so warm and caring towards faculty and students.  I appreciated her advice and example.  Condolences to the family. Rest in love Mrs Grimes.  

I met Linda while we were classmates at the  University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. We had several classes together. Linda was always a very studious, energetic and friendly person. After graduation we did not see each other for a while. But once the Class of 1975 started our reunions, she was ever present. We sometime sat at the same table and revisited our college days on campus. 
My sincere sympathy and prayers are extended to Justin, Ralph and her entire family. Linda and her welcoming smile and hugs will be missed.

The last time I saw her was in JC Penney and she spent an extended time talking about  her Justin and my Shayla.  She was so proud of  you and your accomplishments and she shared with me that you have a wife.  Congratulations!  I did not know about the passing of your dad.  My belated condolences. I had the pleasure of working with Linda in Lonoke for many years.   As a principal, I saw her dedication and excellent teaching skills.   Not only was she an excellent teacher, she was also a fine person.   I was proud to call her a friend.

I taught with Mrs. Grimes at Jacksonville Middle School.  Am so sorry to read of her passing. 

I worked with Linda when she was with PCSSD.  She was so very dedicated to every one of her students.  She always had a smile and kind word for all her co-workers. Was able to have lunch with her a few times with the Pinewood retired teachers. I enjoyed catching up with her and hear about her retired life. 

When we were seniors in college, Linda and I were roommates.  She thought she had the room to herself and was quite surprised when I entered it with all of my “stuff.”  We later laughed at her thinking that she had her own private room; however, it wasn’t long before we discovered that we enjoyed being roommates.  Linda was warm, friendly, and considerate throughout our senior year, such an ideal roommate, which was often a rarity.  
Whenever I would ask Linda to attend church with me, she was always eager to go, and that meant a lot to me.  Even though I was a social butterfly and Linda was more reserved, we admired the qualities that we saw in each other, which led to a lifelong friendship. 
 I eventually introduced her to the guy, who would later become her husband. I had the pleasure of being one of her bridesmaids in her wedding.  
Although we lived in different states, we managed to keep in touch and visit each other.  I will miss my friend, Linda, with her gentle and quiet spirit.  May she rest from pain.  
Al and I will pray that God will provide the family with the peace that passeth all understanding during the difficult days ahead.

At this time, words are merely a vehicle I am attempting to use to express my emotions.   When it comes to a long time friend, such as Linda, my cup runneth over.   She will be missed by many that loved her.   However, I get comfort in knowing that she is at peace resting with our Heavenly Father and her love, Albert.
My prayers will continue for Justin, Gloria,  Ralph, and the other Owens family.

Linda was not only my next door neighbor for over 30 years, she was my close friend,  walking partner, life advisor, prayer partner and confidant.
Through our many long conversations during  our walks, we shared the ups and downs of our lives and developed our plans of actions for major events. She was always a great listener and gave honest, biblically sound advise.
So long my friend until we meet again!

Linda was my friend and neighbor for the past 20 years. We shared many hours of great conversations and foods.  She was a wonderful and caring person and I will miss my friend. 

Linda was such a quiet and reserved lady. We were classmates at UAPB/AM&N and her husband, Albert was my next door neighbor growing up in El Dorado.  We will miss her calmness and her always positive outlook. May God keep her family with his grace and mercy at this time.

Mr. And Mrs. Grimes were very special people. I can't help but to think of them both because they were an awsome team. I can recall many conversations where  Mr. Grimes would give me advice on how to help my friend who was facing similar health challenges as he was. He had a very open heart and  it beemed when he had an opportunity to talk about the goodness of the Lord.  Mrs. Grimes was a strong humble spirit. We shared many conversation about teaching special education,  and of the important task of taking care of loved ones.  She gave great advice and genuinely cared about the success of the church.  Mrs. Grimes was a great supporter for the youth programs, communion stewarts, and church financial team. Her best advice to me, was always on how to educate and rear a strong son.  I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Mr.  and Mrs. Grimes. I pray that their souls are satisfied in the presence of the almighty King!
