Laura Longinotti, a devoted Catholic, gifted artist, passionate musician, and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away on March 19, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends. She was a woman of immense creativity, resilience, and deep love for her family and church.
Laura’s artistic spirit shone through her paintings, ceramics, music, and appreciation for live theatre. She was a dedicated participant in Our Lady of Good Counsel’s Jubilus play each year, finding joy in performing and sharing her talents with the community. Whether she was on stage or behind the scenes, she embraced the camaraderie and creativity of the production, making it a cherished part of her life.
Throughout her life, Laura faced the challenges of mental illness with remarkable strength, living independently while staying deeply connected to her family. She was a devoted daughter who lovingly cared for her elderly mother Loretta Longinotti in her final years, offering comfort and companionship with unwavering dedication.
Laura’s greatest pride and joy was her son, whom she lovingly offered up for adoption when she was 16—a selfless act of love and sacrifice that spoke to the depth of her character. Though she carried him in her heart always, it was only in the past year that she was blessed with the opportunity to meet him and establish a relationship with him. This reconnection was a testament to her unwavering love, faith, and hope. It brought her immense peace and joy, completing a chapter of her life that had always remained open in her heart.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, and the love she gave so freely.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Loretta Longinotti and brother Pat Longinotti.
She is survived by her beloved son, John Kirby, and his wife, Wendy, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Kacy Jane and Keagan Kirby. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Lisa Longinotti and Mike Longinotti; her nieces and nephews, Erica Reardon, Ryan (Katie) Rutherford, and Sarah (Shane) Williams; and her great-nephews and great-nieces, Aidan, Colin, and McKenna Reardon, Rhett and Walker Rutherford, and Corbin, Mia, and Asher Williams.
