Floydean S. Katsaras, 90, of Mabelvale, Arkansas, passed away on April 7, 2025. She was born on July 23, 1934, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Herman Floyd and Sadie (Ison) Danner. In addition to her parents, she was greeted in Heaven by her son, William Harry Wildman Jr., and her beloved dog, Stormey, who passed away just two weeks before her.
Floydean graduated from Little Rock High School in 1951 at the early age of 16. Over the years, she lived in various states, but her heart always remained in Arkansas. She worked for the Arkansas Department of Health for many years, retiring at 79 after dedicating much of her time to caring for her elderly mother, who lived to the age of 102. Floydean was an avid reader, a talented knitter, and loved visiting Hot Springs to relax and shop. Her keen sense of fashion was always evident, especially in her love for sunglasses, shoes, and purses.
A long-time member of Life Line Baptist Church, Floydean served as the church secretary and was deeply involved in the children’s ministry, leaving a lasting impact on the congregation and the younger generations.
Above all, Floydean was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her sense of humor shone through, and in an April Fool's joke this year, she told her nurse she was going to move. Little did we know, she truly made the move six days later, to be with her Heavenly Father.
Floydean leaves behind her daughters, Vikki (LeRoy) McLain and Deana Rebman; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. Floydean’s warmth, kindness, and infectious smile will be remembered by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Arkansas Hospice and her dedicated caregivers: her daughter, Deana, granddaughters, Michelle and Megan, as well as Debbie, Tonia, and Krista. Your gentle care, kindness, and love for Floydean will never be forgotten.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Arkansas Hospice.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at Life Line Baptist Church in Little Rock. Visitation will take place the evening prior, Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home.
