Floria Jane Powell

On July 7, 2023, Heaven gained a mighty warrior in Floria Jane Powell, born March 28, 1954 to Denzil Max and Betty Jane Yarbrough in Paducah, KY. The family moved back to Arkansas where Jane earned her Cosmetology License. She served her fellow Arkansans as a practitioner, salon owner, instructor, school administrator, and Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology President. Of all her titles, Jane considered the titles “Momma” and “Yaya” her most precious. She leaves to cherish the legacy she built, her daughter, Melissa Jane (Yanni), and her two sons, Stephen (Gloria) and Trey (Nikki). Her greatest treasures were her four amazing grandchildren: Amelia, Hadley Jane, Beau Hendrix, and Remi Nicole. Collectively, they served as a magical elixir in her last days, bringing joy and happiness where there had been only pain. Jane loved her extended family, but held a special bond with her sisters, Lynda and Linda, as well as her niece, Elizabeth (Chris) and children Kayla and Hunter. Jane was blessed in her last years with a host of friends from Big Bear and Table Rock Lake, as well as her oldest friends in Arkansas. If you were blessed enough to know Jane, you knew, almost immediately, there was only one “Jane”. She was a force of nature, who loved passionately and genuinely. She didn’t mind a good fight for the good, either. And, in true fashion, she continued to do life her way until the very end. She touched us all in her own unique way. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support throughout our journey. Graveside service will be held at Vilonia Cemetery, Vilonia, AR 72173 on Friday July 14, 2023 at 10:00am. Flowers may be sent to Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home.
