Evalee Holt

Evalee Holt, 94, of Maumelle passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024. She was born on April 8, 1930 in Delaware, Arkansas to the late Walter and Florence Wurst. In addition to her parents, Evalee was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Alton Holt; daughter, Debby Jones; son, Paul Holt, Sr.; and granddaughter, Jennifer Martin. She is survived by her children, Ed (Karla) Holt and Sherry Martin; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jeddy Holt, Sarah Payne, Rebecca (Chris) Staff, and Paul Holt, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Audrey Holt, Evan and Caleb Payne, Kaitlyn Lopez, Bryston and Caden Holt, and Mikalia Norris; two great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Eulla Thomas, Shirley Lee, Shelby Holt, and Donna Cothran.

After graduating from Paris High School, Evalee moved to Little Rock and began working for Westinghouse. Several years later, after marriage, she began attending LRU (now UALR) to pursue a degree in accounting. After college she worked as an accountant for Jacuzzi Brothers, Inc. and Affiliated Foods, Inc. where she worked until retirement.

Evalee was an avid gardener her entire life. In retirement, she began violin lessons, her favorite instrument. Until she lost most of her vision, she worked every cryptogram and crossword puzzle available to her.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Pinecrest Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Don Chancellor. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, 9:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eric Lee, Chris Staff, Evan Payne, Caleb Payne, Bryston Holt, and Caden Holt. Evalee will be laid to rest following the service next to her late husband at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
