Elaine Roberta Luber, age 86, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024. She was born on June 27, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Jack and Sarah Barg. In addition to her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Luber; son, Sheldon Luber; and grandchildren, Jeremy Luber and Naomi Luber.
Elaine's life was a testament to the enduring power of family, creativity, and dedication. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to creating a warm and loving home for her children. Nothing brought her greater joy than knowing her children felt secure and loved under her care.
Beyond her devotion to family, Elaine found solace and fulfillment in her passion for playing weekly mahjong, but most of all her pottery. For over four decades, she immersed herself in the art of pottery, sculpting pieces that spoke of her creativity and skill. Her work transcended mere craftsmanship; it was a reflection of her soul poured into each piece, each one carrying a piece of her heart. Elaine's pottery found its way into galleries, earning recognition not only locally but also internationally. Her involvement in crafts and the local Art Center was a testament to her dedication to her craft and her community.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Philip (Jackie) Luber, Karen (Mark) Mackey, and Gayle (Steve) Mink; grandchildren, Brandy Luber, Joseph Luber, Nicole Fijman, Jared Mackey, and Lindsey Mink; as well as 4 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W 12Th St, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204. Elaine will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Oakland Jewish Cemetery in Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Congregation Agudath Achim, The Harvey Luber Scholarship Fund at Temple B’nai Israel or The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts.
