

Dorothy Baer Pumphrey, 105, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was born on September 29, 1918 in Little Rock to the late Roy and Agnes (Riedmiller) Baer. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by beloved husband, Floyd 'Bill' Pumphrey; grandson, Michael Meyer; and siblings Roy Baer Jr., Juanita Baer Enderlin, and Patricia Baer Doyle. She is survived by her daughter Virginia 'Ginney' Pumphrey; granddaughter, Amanda Parker (Cory) Holt; as well as grandsons, Benjamin Hernandez and Theodore Meyer.
Dorothy worked for the US Postal Inspectors for over 30 years and retired in 1980. Dorothy was a long-time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and was also active with the Holy Souls Seniors group. She enjoyed ballroom and square dancing and attending extended learning classes at LifeQuest of Arkansas. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Retired Catholic Businesswomen.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Andover Place who treated her like family and the caregivers with Independent Seniors for their loving care. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Subiaco Abbey or to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1321 S Jackson Street in Little Rock. Visitation will be the evening prior, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W 12th Street in Little Rock.
