Dennis Ray Leonard, 88, of North Little Rock passed away October 11, 2024. He was born May 23, 1936 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Ora and Ruth (Eoff) Leonard. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his husband, Henry Timothy Byers; two brothers, Derrell and Dale Leonard; and sister, Barbara Carpenter.
A proud veteran, Dennis served in both the Army and the Navy before dedicating over 25 years to his career at National Geographic. In his leisure time, he loved hiking and biking, especially during his time living in the mountains. Above all, Dennis will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and his talent for making others laugh.
Those left to cherish the memories of Dennis include several nieces, nephews, and extended family that will miss him dearly.
Dennis will be laid to rest at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock at a later date.
