September 26, 1952 - July 3, 2022
On a beautiful Sunday, July 3rd, Debbie Jane Price died peacefully with long time friends by her side at Baptist Hospital in LIttle Rock. Born the only child of the late Harold and Jane Price, Debbie was born in Milton, Texas. At an early age with her "Hello world here I am" attitude, Debbie's mark on the world would begin when she was featured on the cover of the East Texas Chamber of Commerce Magazine surrounded by beautiful flowers. Debbie flourished in school, college, and life. She was a member of the homecoming court both in high school and college. She graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock and then went on to Centenary College of Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in Social Studies. Dr. Price went on to earn a Master's Degree at Louisiana State University and would later earn a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. She loved being referred to as "Dr. Debbie!"
Her career as an educator began in Shreveport, Louisiana followed by a move to Little Rock, where she continued her career as an educator at Pulaski Academy and in the Little Rock School District (LRSD). In LRSD, she served as a middle school social studies teacher, an assistant principal at Mann Magnet and Pulaski Heights Middle School, and principal at Dunbar Middle School, and Forest Heights Middle School. With her caring personality and servant leadership style, Dr. Debbie was eventually promoted to serve in central office positions, such as Special Assistant to Associate Superintendent -Elementary School Division and retired as the Director of Student Assignment, where she was instrumental with the design and remodeling of several schools and new schools. Debbie could accomplish success at any goal she set. When Debbie was not working in her various roles as a successful educational leader, she was a true animal lover.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Services for Debbie Price will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on July 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers and honoring her final wishes, you are asked to make a donation in her name to any animal rescue organization.
