Deana Mae was born on January 26, 1929 in Three Rivers, MI. She met and married her lifetime love, Eugene Lee, in Lansing, MI in 1948. Together they moved to Nashville, TN where deep roots and strong friendships grew over their 52 years of marriage. In Nashville they raised their three daughters and invested their hearts and service into Community Bible Church. Deana Mae moved to Little Rock in 2006 to be close to family, and she became a treasured part of Redeemer Community Church.
Deana Mae was renowned for her delicious baked goods (especially her orange cookies!) and exceptionally clean house. Her cheerful attitude and sense of humor filled the hearts of those around her, especially her family, in whom she poured her life. Her joy often showed up in her distinctive whistling around the house and was rooted in thankfulness to her Lord Jesus. She enjoyed studying her Bible with other women and prayed every morning for each child and grandchild. Deana Mae exuded gratitude daily and in all circumstances, even when her body was failing. She had surprising tenacity at times and was a strong woman both of faith and preference. Nana/Nene was the loving grandmother to ten grandchildren and great grandmother to fourteen great grands.
Deana Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lee, and her daughter, Diane Schwarz. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Rick) Houk and Linda Lee.
The funeral service for Deana Mae will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Redeemer Community Church in Little Rock at 7:00pm. A graveside burial will be held at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in Nashville, TN in April.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Redeemer Community Church.
