Darnelle DeShon Barnes, was born February 26, 1997 to Marcus Barnes, Sr., and Raushawn Dean (Barnes), in Little Rock, Arkansas. Darnelle departed this life on September 29, 2015, to join his Great-Grandmother Mattie Bright, Esther Watson; and Grand-mother Shirley Ann Jones. He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at the age of 11, and was a member of Clayton Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Darnelle was very well known growing up in the Yorkwood and Emerald Mountain neighborhood. He graduated from J.A. Fair High School. Darnelle played AAU Basketball was coached under his father Marcus Barnes, Sr. Darnelle was pledging with the Little Rock Kappa League, while he attended J.A. Fair High school. Darnelle’s love for music begins at the age of 10. His group latest songs were: Flick of the Wrist, Cash in My Bag, All of the Money, and many more. His latest song is called “WHY NOT” with DMP Dream Team. Darnelle signed with Brittany Anderson in Atlanta, GA as his Manager for his rap music. He met DJ Drumma Boy, and was planning to go back to Atlanta, GA., to do a recording on October 7th with DJ Drumma Boy. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother: Raushawn Brown, father: Marcus (Tiffany) Barnes, Sr. Two Brothers: Marqelle Barnes, and Marcus Barnes Jr., One Sister: Jade Nelson, all of Arkansas. Grandparents: Lottie Hill, David (Linda) Veasey, Sr. and Melvin Jones, all of Arkansas, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Family hour will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home. Homegoing will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Clayton Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 215 Manson Road Sherwood, Arkansas 72120. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
