Carl is preceded in death by his parents; great granddaughter Kaysen Grace Cogburn; brother in law Woody Johnson
Carl is survived by his wife of 53 years Dorothy "Dottie" Volpert Sanders; children Billy (Shelley) Sanders, Charles "Chuck" (Teresa) Sanders and Karla (Dino) Walls;
Grandchildren Jesse Sanders (Lindsey Ramsey) , Katelyn (Mark) Cogburn, Colby Barnes (Carol Strickland), Kelton Sanders (Abby Lawson), Cody Sanders, Preston Barnes, Courtney Walls (Carter Thessing) , Joshua Sargent, Colbie Walls; Great grandchildren Savannah, Aiden, Cambri, Kinsley, Carsyn, Beau, Ember, Raylynn, Grayson; siblings Linda Sue Johnson, Sarah (Bob) Mosley; brother in laws, Joe (Margie) Volpert , Charles (Jean) Volpert, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
Carl served in the Army for 10 years as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for many years at Warden Motors from 1969 until they closed in 1993 as a mechanic. He opened C & C Foreign Car in 1993 with his son Chuck and worked there until his retirement in 2009. After his retirement he and Dottie traveled from the East coast to the West coast in their motor home with friends Mike and Judy Mattingly and Ray and Dianne Miller. He enjoyed spending time in the Brownsville, Texas area in the cold months and spent the rest of his time working on the motorhome.
Carl was a member of St. Theresa's Church since 1968. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church or to Salem Cemetery.
