After graduating from Mabelvale High School, he entered the army and served valiantly in Korea. Upon his discharge, Bobby entered Draughn School of Business where he attained a degree in Accounting and also met the love of his life, Catherine Sandage. Bobby said he had a drivers license, an accounting license, a securities license, and an insurance license, but his most important license was his marriage license. Their union was blessed with a daughter Jennifer Lynn and a son Bruce Jeffery. Bobby spent several years working very successfully in the insurance industry before operating BJ King Accounting for over forty years, where he valued and cherished all his clients. He heeded a mid-life call to the ministry, and spent the last half of his life serving the Lord in many capacities. He logged countless hours performing prison outreach counseling, going on mission trips, working closely with those dealing with alcohol and drug addiction issues, and trying to help everyone he encountered to reach a better, happier place in life. He was an avid golfer, a voracious reader, an enthusiastic amateur guitarist, a wickedly talented card player, and a fantastic and loving grandfather. His happiest times were spent with his church family, hearing and preaching the word of God, and especially being part of Growing in Grace at St. Andrew’s. He considered them a very special and precious part of his life.
