Mrs. Beverly Carol Culwell

Beverly Carol Munson Culwell was born November 3, 1929 in Mohrland, Utah, to James Glen Munson and Thelma Amanda Dennis. She was the oldest of six children. Following her were Myrna JoAnn, Glen Vernon, Delores Luella, Dennis Allen, and Jerold Lee. Delores and Dennis are the only ones now surviving. Her childhood was spent in eastern Utah in the mountains above Price, and she only came east to Arkansas when she married.

She married the love of her life, Gilbert Culwell on January 26, 1950. They had three children - Carol, Carla (now Pearce), and Alan. They had 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She and Gilbert were pioneering members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Little Rock area. They served in many positions of leadership and service since before 1960 until their deaths. She loved serving in the church, especially teaching, and she never turned down a calling.

She loved her family. She loved the Church. She loved the opportunity that she and Gilbert had to serve in the Dallas and Memphis Temples.

She loved to keep busy and care for others. She fed missionaries in her home every week for over 50 years, and Sunday dinners with the family were a much-loved tradition. She also loved sewing and other handwork, and made Christmas ornaments every year for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed playing games with family and friends and working puzzles. One of her favorite gifts that she received last year was a jigsaw puzzle of family members, and she worked it almost every day until she was no longer able to do it.

She died peacefully on March 1, 2022. We will miss her, but are happy that she is now free from the limitations of old age and has rejoined family on the other side.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 7 at noon in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building at 600 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock. Viewing to be from 11:00 to 11:45.
