Barbara Jean Hurd, 75, of Little Rock passed away Friday, June 22, 2018. Born July 5, 1942 in Greenville, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Robert F Pulley and Eula Vunkannan Pulley. She grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas and graduated from Fountain Lake High School where she was at the top of her class and a star athlete (basketball team).
Barbara worked at NCTR in Jefferson , Arkansas and served as the office manager for a counseling clinic in Little Rock. Serving as state and national officer for the National Association of Postal Supervisors Auxiliary, she traveled extensively within the United States in fulfilling her role with the auxiliary.
Barbara was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock. She was deeply committed to her faith and serving the Lord each and every day. She treasured singing in the choir and expressing her love for God through music. Barbara had a passion for working with young adults and school ago children. She truly loved being with people and always maintained a positive and engaging spirit. Barbara will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Dale E. Kennedy, Jr. and Forrest Hurd; and her sister, Nancy Brown. She is survived by two sons, Dale E. Kennedy III (Angela) of Alexandria, Virginia, and Jon R. Kennedy of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Lauren Kennedy of Memphis, Tennessee, Katie Kennedy of Dallas, Texas and Jessica Kennedy Kriegbaum of Conway, Arkansas, Barrett Hurd, of South Carolina, and Sarah Hurd, of North Carolina; and was loved by multiple nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jun e 27, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church, 4501 Burrow Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72116 with Pastor Randy Jumper officiating. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26th at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock (501) 661-9111. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church.
