Audron Frances Spears Robertson was born on November 20, 1946 in Mound Bayou, Mississippi to the late George W. and Lucy McEwen Spears. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Wesley United Methodist Church in Mound Bayou. She departed this life on July 28, 2016 with her family by her side. Audron graduated from Mound Bayou High School, Class of 1963 as Valedictorian. She received her BS Degree from Philander Smith College and a Masters of Science Specialist Degree from Atlanta University in 1968. She was united in marriage to Larry S. Robertson, Sr. on August 24, 1968. Two children, Andrea and Larry Stanley Jr., were born to this union. She was employed from 1968-69 as a librarian at UAPB, and also the librarian at S. A. Jones High School and Rightsell Elementary School for a short time. From 1970-1999, Audron was librarian at Little Rock Hall High School. Audron was a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was initiated in the Gamma Alpha Chapter at Philander Smith College in the fall of 1964. After graduation, she joined Beta Pi Omega Chapter where she remained until death. Audron was active in several professional organizations, including AEA, NEA and the National Library Association. She was a faithful member of Christway Missionary Baptist Church. Her church activities included, the Sunday Ministry, Mission Ministry, Mt. Pleasant Club #7, BTU, and the Dorcas Mission Circle. In addition to her parents, Audron was preceded in death by her son, Larry Stanley Robertson, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 48 years, Larry Stanley Robertson Sr.; daughter, Andrea (Eric) Taylor; brother, Reginald Morris Spears (Lucille); three (3) grandchildren, Harrison Xavier Robertson, Madison Symone Robertson, and Ashton Audron Robertson-Taylor, and sister in laws; Addie Bogan and Gail Robertson, and nieces; Dr. Shaintay Spears-Abudu, Dr. Katrina Spears-Babcock, and Monique Bogan; nephew, Kyle Bogan and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am followed by funeral services starting at 11:30 am at Christway Missionary Baptist Church, 4324 Potter Road in Little Rock and will be officiated by the Rev. Roderick Torrence. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
