William F. Sullivan, Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of Walpole, MA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on December 2nd, 2022. He was born in Winthrop, MA and was son of the late William F. (Sr) and Mary E. (Tosney) Sullivan.
Bill, as his family and friends called him, was raised in Peabody, MA, and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School Class of 1968. He earned his Bachelor of Science (1973) and Masters of Science (1976) in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He had a rewarding career in the Power Industry working in a variety of roles at Stone & Webster, Kaiser Engineers, New England Power, and PG&E National Energy Group.
Golf has been a passion of Bill’s since his childhood, playing with his parents at the Bear Hill Country Club in Stoneham, MA. This continued through his retirement years as a member of the Barefoot Resort and Golf Club where he acquired the nickname ‘Cash’ playing with his weekly golf groups. He shared his love of golf with his family and treasured his time on the course playing with his children and grandchildren. Bill especially enjoyed partnering with his eldest son in Father/Son tournaments and Member/Guest events. He could regularly be found at Wings hanging out with friends after a round of golf and on Friday nights.
His excitement for Boston sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox, continued years after leaving New England. He loved taking to the seas to relax with his wife and socializing with friends on cruises. Affectionately known as ‘Pa’, he was a proud grandfather who truly cherished every minute he spent with his granddaughters.
Bill was an incredible man who was kind, always smiling, and a good friend to many. He provided love and support to his children and family. He will be dearly missed by many.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate of 48 years, Kathy (Mayall) Sullivan.
