Tonya Campbell

Tonya Kaye Campbell, 45, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 14, 1975, in Wilmington, NC, she was the daughter of Herbert Campbell and Brenda Butler Campbell.

Having her toes in the sand brought Tonya much happiness. Any day was a day for the beach and the sounds and smells of the salty air of the ocean made Tonya content and would take her worries away. A beautiful soul who was soft hearted and kind hearted, Tonya will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are her brother, Joseph “Joey” Campbell (wife, Amanda); nieces, Kayla, Savannah, Chloe; nephew Christian; aunts, Carol (Roger) Wright, Louellen Williamson (Woody); and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her loving boyfriend of two years, Tyler Bitner.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Kenneth Reaves will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
