Following his high school graduation, Ted enlisted in the US Army where he served one tour of duty in Vietnam. He remained a proud US Veteran throughout his life. After his time in the Army, Ted returned to his hometown of Rockville/Vernon, CT., and began working with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for ten years before becoming the owner and operator of Aircraft Engine Services. After his retirement, he opened Joey’s Pizzeria and Pub in Enfield, CT. He sold Joey’s and opened Near the Lake Café in Stafford Springs, CT. A car enthusiast, Ted had a love for Corvettes and built and owned several. One of his favorite pastimes was going to car shows.
While in Vernon, Ted met Helen Bronson. They dated for many years before marrying on July 31, 2021. The need for warmer weather and sunshine brought Ted and Helen Bronson to Longs, SC several years ago. He made new friends in South Carolina and his friendships in Connecticut remained strong. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving in addition to his wife Helen, are his daughters, Lisa Wajda, Teri Scaramella (husband, Steve); step-daughter, Christina Bronson; and step-son, Paul Bronson. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Shaina, Ian, Desirae, Brianna and Anthony.
A service with military honors will be held at a later date.
