Sarah Shrader Jenkins, aged 73, passed away on September 13, 2024, in Georgetown, SC. Born on December 8, 1950, Sarah was known for her vivacious personality and constant smile. Together with her late husband, Ron Jenkins, she co-owned Affordable Lab Testing in Baton Rouge, LA, where they were integral parts of the community, often hosting cookouts and gatherings.
Sarah's professional life was marked by her exceptional skills as a Phlebotomist, a career where she excelled in finding a vein better than anyone else. Her educational journey took her from San Pedro Senior High to training at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, which set the foundation for her successful career.
A devout attendee of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church, Sarah's faith was an important aspect of her life. She cherished her Sundays spent with family, especially her grandchildren, and was an enthusiastic supporter of LSU and the Saints, never missing a game. Her love for margaritas, wine, and exploring with friends and family filled her life with joy and laughter.
Sarah is survived by her sons, Joshua Smith and his wife Amanda of Longs, SC, and Tyler Smith of North Myrtle Beach, SC; four step-children; and eight grandchildren: Alana, Austin, Kaylee, Asher, Julie, Adalyn, Jackie, and Joanna. She also leaves behind her sister, Linda K. Shrader of Florence, SC, and her brother, Joe Shrader, and his wife Kimberly of Narrows, VA. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ron Jenkins, and her parents.
A celebration of life will be held later this year, where Sarah and Ron's ashes will be scattered together in Key West, as per their wishes.
