Robert “Bobby” Kenneth Warner, 55, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was winning his battle with esophageal cancer, but passed of a cardiac arrest. Born on July 12, 1967, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth Warner and Sandra Lee Warner.
As a child he loved spending time with his “Poppy” George Shearer on the weekends, and that is when his love of history and comic books was born. Bobby particularly enjoyed DC Comics especially the Batman storylines with his favorite character Nightwing.
A graduate of Walkersville High School, home of the Lions, Class of 1985, Bobby was a talented drummer and a member of the Walkersville High School Marching Band. He started college at Frederick Community College for his first 2 years and started working for Dennys as a Server in 1986. He continued his career with Dennys as a Server, Trainer, and cook while he received his associate’s degree from Coastal Carolina University. Bobby returned to Frederick , MD where he continued working at Denny’s then Waffle House, then Hard Times Café. He married the love of his life, Katrina, in September of 2013 in Surfside Beach SC. They lived in Frederick MD until moving to Myrtle Beach South Carolina with their daughter in January 2015. He was currently working his retirement job with VaVaVape and loved his “work family” especially Emily, his “work daughter.”
An avid football fan, Bobby proudly wore his Dallas Cowboys blue and silver or Coastal Carolina teal on game days as well as just for fun. He loved going to Frederick Keys, and Myrtle Beach Pelicans games with his wife and father in law during baseball season. He also enjoyed watching WWE and AEW weekly. Bobby had an ear for great music, and his genre was all-inclusive. Phil Collins was one of his favorite singer/song writers and he enjoyed any good musician singing a cappella.
Surviving are his wife, Katrina Little-Warner; and his children and chosen children: Jackie Bishop (Philip), Stephanie Johnson (Lisa), Nicholas Johnson (Becca), Jared Warner, and Emba Little; six beloved grandchildren who were the light of his life, Josie(12), Gage(9), Evelyn(8), Dominic(7), Brooklyn(2) and Davina(1); father-in-law, Bill Little ( Carol); mother-in-law, Nancy Opeka, (Tony); brother-in-law, Bobby Little; and Aunt-in-law Tracey Trumbull. His chosen uncle, Jim Lenhart and chosen sister Tammy Lenhart also survive him. His chosen sister, Lorie Lenhart, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29576.
