Robert Lee Dye, IV passed away on October 29, 2024, leaving behind his loving parents, Robert and Ann Dye, and his beloved sister Katherine and her husband, Spencer Beeson. Lee also leaves behind his grandparents, Bob and Sue Dye, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lee graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with a degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. He was a bartender at Magnolia’s in downtown Charleston and was also the mandolin player in the local band, Wild Current.
Lee loved life and everyone he met. He considered everyone he met family. His passion for music was only surpassed by his love for his friends and family. Lee had a way of putting everyone at ease and the outpouring of love his family and friends have received recently supports how many lives he touched.
When Lee wasn’t working or playing music, he loved visiting his family and playing a slightly competitive game of golf with his dad. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out with friends, and playing darts at The Griffon. Lee loved giving to others and was absolutely the best gift giver (even his sister agrees). Making others happy is what he loved to do; Lee was always the biggest smile and loudest laugh in the room. He will be so missed.
A celebration of Lee's life will be held at The Griffon, 18 Vendue Range Charleston, SC on Sunday, November 17th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Lee’s name to BeLoved Asheville (belovedasheville.com) to support the hurricane relief. Lee loved playing music in that area.
Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the Dye family.
