Robert McKenzie Covington Jr.

Robert “Rocky” McKenzie Covington, Jr., 73, went to be with his beloved Lord and Savior, Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Born in Charlotte and raised in Rockingham, NC, he was the only son of the late Robert McKenzie Covington, Sr. and Mae Ballard Covington. Rocky is survived by his wife Sandra “Sandy” Yarborough Covington and their beloved puppy, Wick.

Rocky was a devoted Christian with a generous soul, loved by all, and rarely met a stranger. His buddies would all agree, they were his best friend, although he never played favorites. Rocky loved all sports, with a passion for golf and the UNC Tar Heels. He was a member of the Atlantic Christian College, now Barton College, Basketball Hall of Fame and he cherished his affiliation to the school throughout his life.

Rocky and his wife Sandy worked side by side for over 40 years, growing their successful business together. They enjoyed simply being together, at home, taking in the view from their home in Myrtle Beach, SC.

A private graveside service will be held and the family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
