He was born to Richard and Brenda Flenke, Sr., on December 31, 1973. Richard graduated from Enfield High School in Enfield, CT and studied at Asnuntuck Community Technical College and Comp-u-soft Institute of Information Technology. Richard lived most of his life in Enfield, CT before moving to South Carolina in 2012. Richard was self-employed as a painter and handyman.
In addition to his parents, Richard is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie Flenke; his granddaughter, Emma-Rae Loveday; his brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Kim Flenke; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and James Luzzo, Jr.; and his sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Brady Joyce; a niece and her husband, Kaitlyn and Adam Gann, and their daughter, Ivy; nephews David Flenke; Jacob Ouellette; his niece and her husband, Gabrielle and Brody Hilburn, and their children Adam and Allison; his nephews, William and Ryan Joyce; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Richard was predeceased by his beloved son, Alex Flenke.

Donations may also be made to Holy Trinity Catholic School, 1100 8th Avenue N, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582 for a scholarship fund established in Richard’s name.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 AM on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC. There will be a graveside service and interment at 10:30 AM on September 24, 2022 at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Enfield, CT.
Richard will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He will forever be remembered as a hard-working man with a heart of gold and an adventurous spirit who loved his family, helping others, and being outdoors.
