Rhonda J. Elick, 69, of Little River, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at home with her husband and family by her side. Born on October 14, 1953 in Brunswick, MD, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence Dockery.
On June 27, 1987, in Frederick, MD, Rhonda married Richard J. Elick. Always having a love of the ocean, after a visit to the beach visiting friends, she and Richard made Little River their home in 2018. Her loving and warm personality was evident as she made new friends here in Little River without losing touch with those she had made in Maryland, so much so, that she and Richard became “trendsetters” as so many of their friends followed them to area.
A woman with a beautiful touch, Rhonda enjoyed home decorating and often assisted with decorating ideas. She loved gardening, music, and most importantly, she loved her relationship with her church family, Little River United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all who were blessed to know her.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard are her sons, Louis Q. Holland III, Matthew S. Elick; daughters, Lena M. Holland, Natalie J. Holland, Bridget L. Elick; brother, James “Jimmy” Dockery; sisters, Willa McGaha, and Judy Tiller. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Zachary Holland, Blossom Holland, Adin Shelton (Darrell), Alaina Myers, Natalia Bowens, Levi Bowens, Joziah Chaos, Jayvon Chaos, and great-grandchildren, Montana, Rumi, Ava, Kaylyn, and Briella. Rhonda is preceded in death by her sister, Doris Athey; grandson, Tyler Holland; and daughter-in-law, Kellie Holland.
