Nancy Ward

Nancy was born on August 22, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter and Anne (Valatka) Melnik. She worked as secretary for Goodyear Aerospace.

She met the love of her life, the late Ronald W. Ward, and they were blessed with 2 wonderful children. Nancy spent her life caring for her number one priority, her family, and was later in life overjoyed to become a grandmother to Camden and Graham Ward. They retired in Okatie, SC, playing bridge and achieving her Bronze Life Master. Nancy later moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, to be closer to family. She spent her final days spoiling her grandkids and leaving smiles wherever she went. Nancy always had a positive attitude, a caring heart and kind words to share. She entered heaven following the maps drawn by her grandchildren and into the loving arms of her husband who she dearly missed these past 5 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Julie (James) Ward of Winston, OR; and a son, Jonathan (Melissa) Ward, North Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandsons; three brothers, Robert (Norma) Melnik; Dennis (Susan) Melnik; and Donald Melnik.
