I just heard about Michaels death. We were in the South Iredell class of '79. Michael was a good guy but unfortunately he was one of those I never saw again after graduating. I am so sorry to hear of his death.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the premature loss of such a great, kind and wonderful man as Michael. We looked forward each year to see and talk with him. He did a great job in managing Tilghman. He always had a smile to share. May God bless you at this time of grief and guide you on into the future.

I knew Mike from our days working for Jameson Inns years ago.  He was a fun coworker and funny to be around.  We kept in touch until 2 or 3 years ago and I am so sad to hear of his passing.  I know how much he loved his family and the pain you must all be in.  But rejoice that Mike is with our Heavenly Father now and we will all be together again some day.  Rest In Peace my friend.

Steve and I are so sorry to hear about Mike passing.  He was the best general manager we had at Tilghman.  He really cared about the resort and he cared about the people.  God Bless his family and
cherish all the memories you have of him.  No more suffering for Mike.

Mike was a beloved  Boy Scout leader.  I always remember how he enjoyed  cutting up with our  Scouts.  He was always concern with everyone.  He was a great role model , husband , father,  and grandfather.  He will be missed!

Mike will be sadly missed. We all knew him for his capable managerial skills, but more importantly we knew him for his wonderful attitude , friendly greetings and caring personality for staff , renters and homeowners at TBGR . 
He was someone we could call friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and sweet granddaughter who he loved dearly.

Mike always treated me like family, even teased me like family. I always felt welcome in the Deaton home and treasure the time spent there. Hugs, love and prayers to Connie, Chris and the rest of the family.

It is difficult thinking of TBGR without Mike. Mike was the heartbeat of our resort. We are, all of us, sorrowful for Mike's passing.

Mike was, and his memory will continue to be, a defining part of the resort's culture. He will be missed. There is no replacing what Mike was to the resort, its staff, owners and board members.
