Mrs. Margaret Edna Snow Crocker died on October 17, 2018 after a long illness. She was married to George Holmes Crocker for 67 years, until his death. Mrs. Crocker was born on November 30, 1930 in Clarksburg, WV. She grew up in Clarksburg and Fort Pierce, FL, the daughter of the late Mary Van Daalen (John Van Daalen) and the late Wallace F. Snow (Bessie Snow). Mary Alice Berman (Mel Berman) is the late sister of Mrs. Crocker and Shirley Parrish is the late stepsister. Mrs. Alice Batson (Kelly Batson) is a sister of her heart. A graduate of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, she attended the University of WV becoming a lifelong Mountaineer. She was a member of the DAR and was very active with Republican Women.
Mrs. Crocker was a dedicated homemaker, making homes for her family all over the south, and volunteering for various causes wherever she went. Mrs. Crocker was the chief support for her husband’s successful career which required many moves and they were finally longtime residents of Charlotte, NC and Blowing Rock, NC.
Mrs. Crocker had one son, George H. Crocker, Jr (Jay) of Longs, SC, who is married to Linda King Crocker, and one daughter, Jan Crocker Banner of Spartanburg, SC, who was married to the late Jack Martin Banner. She had two grandchildren; Cori Crocker Lee (Tom Lee) of Oak Hill, VA and Matthew Gray Banner (Laura Banner) of Mayfield Heights, OH. Her great-grandchildren are Alex and Aaron Lee, and Jocelyn Johnson. Her grandchildren of the heart are the Batson, Berman, and Schurmeier children and grandchildren.
Services are to be determined later. Family is at the home of Jay Crocker, 1220 Checkerberry St, Longs, SC 29568.
