Lawrence “Larry” Moore Russ, 75, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 at home with his wife by his side. Born on September 18, 1946, in Erie, PA, he was a son of the late Wendel and Virginia Goldsberry Russ.
Larry proudly served in the US Navy from 1965 until his honorable discharge on October 28, 1969. On July 9, 1966, Larry married the love of his life, Patricia. They were avid dancers and especially enjoyed the West Coast Swing. Larry was a car enthusiast. His passion for cars included buying and selling but he also enjoyed the hunt in shopping and finding just the right one. He and Patricia joked that his house in heaven would have a huge garage.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Patricia are his three daughters, Bridgett Browning (husband, Jerry), Laura Murgia (husband, Ralph), Melissa (husband, Lawrence); eight grandchildren, Jamie, Tamra, Courtney, Charles, Lawrence, Trinity, Desiree and Nicki. He is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Calvert and Cheryl Self (husband, Jim).
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory with burial immediately following in North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – until noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to MUSC, Cancer Research.
