Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Marsha Bross Denton; father, Joseph A. Denton; step-mother, Jeannie Denton; brother, Jay Denton (Anastasia); nephew, Rami Denton; mother-in-law, Ina Bross; father-in-law, Carl Bross; sister-in-law, Gayle McMillan; niece, Katie Gaillot (Jean Luc); nephew, James McMillan; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He also leaves behind his two dogs, Grace and Benji and his cat, Trump. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother-in-law, Bryan Bross.
Originally from Ohio, Joseph grew up in Tallmadge. He graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1980. Throughout his adult life, Joseph worked as a sales manager with Thomas Chrysler Jeep and as a car salesman with Sitts Automotive, both in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Joseph and Marsha relocated to Little River in November of 2005. Joseph owned and operated Denton’s Detectors and Collectables. He was also the president of the Palmetto Metal Detectors Club. Metal detecting was truly Joseph’s passion. He enjoyed collecting antiques and Civil War memorabilia along with watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball.
