John Leger, 70, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Raymond and Jean Hendron Leger. Following the death of his mother, his father married Cecelia Leger whom John loved as his mother. John married Judy on July 9, 1994.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, John served for six years having had a tour in Vietnam. He was a music enthusiast who enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to rock and roll as well as blues. John felt time was well spent on his motorcycle and most importantly, the greatest joys were his grandchildren. He loved taking his grandsons to the movies and was always willing to watch whatever movie chosen by them. John and Judy made their home in Little River in 2017 moving from Winsted, Connecticut. They enjoyed their time at the beach until his passing.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy, are his children, Jeremy Leger, Eric Leger; step-children, Kyle Forte, Gena Ohidy; and six grandchildren, Zander, Ian, Aiden, Quinn, Norah and Lucas. John is predeceased by his grandson, Levi Leger.
John had several special dogs throughout his life, Celia, survives him, and Bob, Tasha and Miko preceded him in death.
The family requests memorials be made to Wounded Warriors.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home, Little River, SC. Burial will follow in North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
