James Kenneth Wilkins

James Kenneth Wilkins, 97, passed away at his home on September 6, 2021.

Born in Maple Grove, VA, he was the son of Earl Brisco and Elsie Finwick Wilkins.

Kenneth was employed at Washington Gas Light Co, in Washington, DC and retired to the Little River area after 42 years of service. He and his wife Elaine enjoyed golf, NASCAR races, and the many cruises shared with family and friends.

Survivors include a sister, Althea Wilkins Hinson (Charles); brother-in-law William (Sonny) Akin; sister-in-law Barbara Lorine Wilkins; niece Mary Tyler Wilkins, who resided at his home and became his caregiver; his loyal friend, Benjamin Rose; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Elaine Wilkins; four brothers, Shirley, Blake, Earl (Duke) and Tyler; and a sister, Emily Wilkins Akin.

Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30pm on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 11840 Hwy. 90, Little River, SC.
