James F. Mahoney

James Fred Mahoney, Jr., 69, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home after a long term illness.

Born on January 6, 1947, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late James F. and Lavinia (Moler) Mahoney. He is also predeceased by one brother, Carroll Mahoney.

Fred graduated from the University of Maryland, where he played trumpet in the Maryland Marching Band. He was Vice President of his high school class in Bladensburg, MD. Fred loved sports, especially the Washington Redskins and the Maryland Terps. He loved his family, friends and food. Fred enjoyed playing golf and pool, his “oldies” music and dancing with his wife, Pam.

Fred met Pamela R. Carnes in 1985 and they married in May of 1999. He is also survived by two sons, Scott Mahoney and Jeff Mahoney (Laura), stepson, Matt Archer (Lidia), two step daughters, Cherie Warren (Bill), Dawn Radtke (Kevin) and two grandchildren, Connor and Emma Mahoney.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, September 22 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 11840 Hwy. 90, Little River, SC 29566. In celebration of Fred’s life, please wear your “happy colorful” clothes.
